Kah Ribon Olam - Ve'apek Yas Amech

You know this, I think you know this מודז'יץ ניגון. This is the ניגון that from the words that we're going to be learning today.

So these words have always been some of my favorite words ever.

Your, your עם, קדוש ברוך הוא, take out your עם, אפק יעס עמך. Like you're telling השם, dear קינדערלאך, you know, Friday night, this is what we say at the שבת טיש.

So many years ago, I had the זכות of of a, of having a ניגון to these words. I never sing it. I want to sing it now. It's actually very interesting.

The same night that this is like, 2002. So the same night that that this ניגון came down, ר' בך הכהנים. So right afterwards, like ממש right afterwards, this ניגון came down also. It's in the house of משה גלר in נחלאות.

Okay, so today's learning was, we're doing לעילוי נשמת. It's sponsored by Mickey Friedman in memory of her Abba's 21st

This is sponsored by his children, יצחק ישראל and מיכל ברכה, and his grandchildren. May his נשמה continue to have an עליה. And may we all bring him sweet Alright, brothers.

We were not supposed to learn this last Friday morning because that's not what השם wanted, but it seems like השם allowed us today. If you have the ספר, open up דף רל"ז. This page is here for whoever needs.

And let's learn these amazingly, amazingly שייך words that we have for today.

This is a lot of lion talk is in the air. A lot of lion talk. I shared last week on one of the videos to the shul, one of the גימטריות רב גינסבורג mentioned was that עם כלביא is the same גימטריא as the words גל עיני.

Which is his, the name of his institutions, גל עיני means to lift up my eyes, to be able to gaze and look at life from a much deeper and higher perspective, which is I'm sure what each of us are going through right now, kind of being put into a place of of being able to look at things differently. I also want to welcome with all our hearts and souls, my, my, one of my heroes and Rebbes and best friends in the world, all of us, Ari Abramowitz, who after a journey like no other, came, got back home yesterday. And last week at this time, you were saying you don't know if you're ever going to see your children again. I know, and that's what it felt like.

And you're living proof and testimony that a lot of the greatest fears we have in life, So it should be a זכות for all אידן to get back home, and for all the things that fear us, חס ושלום, to be removed. I also want to mention my dear friend Eli, Eli Gray, who thought he was coming for a few minutes to ארץ ישראל. How long's it been now? Tuesday, officially.

That's what you think. But you're home. You're home for now. And Eli's been a friend of mine for many years and learned with us a lot online.

So you're here. So we, there's one more גימטריא, there's one more גימטריא that רב גינסבורג had said that that עם כלביא, I remember this correctly, עם כלביא equals גל עיני equals אנכי השם אלקיך. So I hope that, and I'm sure that everything that we're going through right now is taking us to places of גל עיני and אנכי השם אלקיך, to be able to look at the world, to look at, to understand how הכל הכל בידי שמים in ways like we've said those words our whole lives and to really right now to understand this ענין that another ballistic missile hit a direct impact this morning in באר שבע and no one was killed.

Lift up my eyes. Also when this is over, lift up my eyes, Okay, so דף רל"ז.

I mean, this has been beautiful, we've been learning קאריבן for for months already. This is so special. קאריבן, you know? We're still in the same זמר.

We're still in the same זמר. We don't say

We say אפק. Take out your, your people, השם. אפק יעס עמך, שהרי אנו עמך, we're your people.

ואין זה לכבודך הגדול והנורא, השם, it's not כבוד that what's going on. It's not כבוד for you that your עם, שעם ישראל יהיו נתונים בצער ובצער. It's not שייך. It's not שייך.

This is an amazing like, backwards עזות דקדושה, holy חצפה לזמר, because when we're really דאווענען for is that the pain should, you know, the suffering should end, but how we, how are we presenting it before השם? said, us, our כבוד, that's something else. It's your ענין, right? Take out, it's your people.

It's your השם, your כבוד. Look at סמך ג. The bottom.

They were talking about World War II. Millions of Jews were killed And listen to this חצפה'דיקע statement, I love it.

Maybe they were killed על קידוש השם, but the מציאות was חילול השם. So רבי שלמה'קע is saying, don't think חלילה for a second that, you know, he's belittling the, the קידוש השם aspect of someone being killed, of being a איד. But basically, when he says there wasn't a קידוש השם, there was a חילול השם.

And השם, your name was מחולל, which brings us back to the first שיעור we had on October 8th, where we started speaking about נקמה. נקמה is over חילול השם. In a place where there's חילול השם, there needs to be נקמה with, through קידוש השם. But קידוש השם doesn't mean, let's see how many more Jews can die על קידוש השם.

It means something completely different. It means we are causing a חילול השם in the עולם. Although these Iranian ימח שמם have, look at the קידוש השם that is, you know, just continue the שמירה עליונה, the שמירה עליונה. ובצל כנפיך יחסם what's going on right now.

It's unbelievable. I'm not sure which Rebbe this is. A certain Rebbe from Slonim, maybe someone knows, you could tell me. A certain, a certain Rebbe from Slonim was asked about a איד who was killed על קידוש השם in ארץ הקודש by בני בליעל ישמעאלים ימח שמם וזכרם.

Right, someone said, wow, what a קידוש השם it was that this איד was killed by the ישמעאלים, he died על קידוש השם. And this איד said, you know what would be a greater קידוש השם? If, if tons of them that are עוין, that are, that are hateful to us would have, would have been killed.

This is what we're begging הקדוש ברוך הוא, the Master of the world, עמך די בכי את מכלל אומייא. Look at the state of גלות that so many of עם ישראל are in.

Have compassion and mercy, and save us soon. Why? Two words, למען שמך. You could even say it in one word, and that word would be, למענך. You can do it in one word too, for your sake.

Back on top after the סמך ג. ואף אם אין אנו ראויים חס ושלום, and even if we're not worthy, השם, you're looking down at this דור. And from our human perspective, was there ever a greater moment in time where when you'd look at עם ישראל and you'd see such גבורה? You would hear the, the roaring of soldiers in Gaza, in Lebanon, and all over the region, צדיקים and צדקניות, maybe in, from our perspective, it seems ש, יש לנו זכות. But even if for whatever the reasons are, we're not ראוי, I'm still asking you, why?

You know, this is really what משה רבנו's טענה is back to השם in פרשת שלח, if you think about it. After חטא המרגלים, you know, משה רבנו keeps on, he doesn't keep on, his claim and his beseeching on behalf of עם ישראל is not one that's basically telling השם, look at how holy your people are. His beseeching and praying for כלל ישראל after חטא המרגלים is saying, ריבונו של עולם, it's your כבוד that's going to be blemished and diminished from the world. That's what he's operating from.

It's the same place he's operating from after חטא העגל, after the golden calf. It's putting it on To be able to ממש say that is also a very, very, very high level when you're really removing your own any motive and you're really saying, השם, it's about you. It's about you.

ואף אם אין אנו ראויים חס ושלום, אך עשה למען שמך, do it for your name's sake. ותפדה אותם, and redeem them מִפּוּמֵי אַרְיְוָתָא. You know what that means? What's מפומא אריותא? From the mouths of lions. I told you, it's a lot of lion talk.

A lot of lion talk. I'm sorry? It's a school of lions. on the hill is called John Lions. They used to wear black capes.

And redeem them from all these different concealments, weird, like black, whatever you just said right now, you know, these black capes and, and like all these different הסתרים שונים ומשונים, whatever, whatever, whatever it is. But we're going to get back to this in a second, but I want to go back on top. ועוד בזה, there's a statement from רבי שמחה בונים מפשיסחה, so fire over here.

ריבונו של עולם, עם ישראל, you, you started this בלאגן. Like you, it wasn't, we did not summon a meeting at the, at the burning bush. That wasn't our doing.

You did. You did. And um, אברהם אבינו was a very תמים holy person who was, who was searching for you, but he didn't demand of you to make a people out of him. He just wanted to speak about your oneness.

This whole ענין of people and nation, that's your ענין. Did you ever stop and think about that? אברהם אבינו's ענין is not, השם, you made him into a father of many nations, but when אברהם אבינו was doing, was, was searching, because he couldn't ignore something in his קישקעס, he didn't come to the conclusion that said, now that I have discovered the concept of monotheism in such a profound way, now it's the time for peoplehood, and nationhood. No, no.

This is your ענין, השם. So therefore, redeem us soon in our days,

Before our צרות get the worse of us. Before we lose our minds. This is very similar to a lot of the statements the אש קודש has throughout the ספר אש קודש, as the war goes along.

As the war goes along, there are a lot of statements where the אש קודש is looking at השם and he's saying, listen, עמך די בכי את מכלל אומייא, you're not going to be left with an עם. You're not going to be left with an עם in this rate. Today is a different מציאות. I'm not, I'm not comparing, I'm just going back to, it's בכלל, it's, it's almost the opposite מציאות.

Today rockets are falling here and, and there's, not to make you feel less special, but there's thousands of Aris trying to make it here. No יאומן, ישעיה is on his way home? He's at, he's at right now at the customs in עמאן. Which is not recommended. Especially if you have תפילין.

Especially if you're ישעיה. בעסער צו פרידען לייזען אויס אלעס אידן, ווי איידער אלעס גוים חלילה. which means, כי תהיה יותר מרוצה אם תגל אותנו כשאנו עדיין יהודים, you'll be so much happier השם.

If when you redeem us, we're still Than God forbid, if we are already like גוים. זאת אומרת השם, listen, right now we're holding.

Right now we're still holding. Right, we're still holding on. But when it's just inevitable that when a person goes through so much pain and suffering, who knows what can happen to them and where they could be detached from.

So the, the רבי שמחה בונים מפשיסחה is saying, השם, you'll be happier if you redeem us while we're still holding on to our ברית, to our, to our תורה, to our שבת. Of course, you can do anything and you can redeem us also once we are feeling like גוים. That's also true. But you, השם, למענך, you'll feel so much better.

You'll feel, I mean, not that you'll feel so much better, but the whole ענין would be such a big greater קידוש השם if you redeem אידן that are אידן and not אידן that are already acting and feeling and living like גוים. It's, it's unfortunately, unfortunately it's happened because more Jews were lost to assimilation than the Holocaust. Let's stick on the... let's delete that and and stay positive right now.

You sound like Channel 12, like, you know. I'm sorry. No, I know, you got, I don't want that here. Like, I love you, but...

Not even them. Turn, turn to this room. Turn to this room. Okay.

I love you, but I don't, yeah. On the one hand, we're saying this, and on the other hand, isn't it a little חצפה to not believe that השם has his plan and knows exactly what he's doing? There's no סתירה between the two. השם has a plan that he created us with with being בעלי בחירה. Right.

That's a, that's אמונה בהשם that השם created us knowing that he gave us כח הדיבור, he gave us כח המחשבה and he gave us כח המעשה. So if I believe that that's also part of השם's perfect plan, I have to, I can only work from a place of my בחירה. How am I choosing to show up today? That's part of השם's perfect plan too. So even saying, like, okay, השם maybe has a plan in him that um, only once we're total גוים, then he'll redeem us.

But then, so what does that say about us and our עבודה? But this is like, השם, what are you doing? No. Not at all. It's saying, I'm looking at where things are at right now, and I'm just saying you gave me a mouth and a heart to cry out from this place. That, that's very important.

Now, this footnote, it seems like it's a long one, it's not so long, but it's very, it's very, very special, okay? Lion talk. Go go down, סמך ד. It's a parable that רבי בונים heard.

In a nice Jewish home, they were sitting down to eat. Everything was peace and calm. Who shows up at the table? A lion.

A lion shows up at the table. Can you just imagine people freaking out, losing their, their marbles when a lion shows up at the table. What ended up happening?

Everyone's looking for refuge, scared to death. Someone puts himself into all different types of closets.

Someone jumped over the closet. Someone almost jumped out of the window. אבל, ממקום מסתורם, from each place that someone's hiding, they're able to still keep their eye on the table. And what do they see?

They see one of the brothers sitting there chilling at the table, all calm. The guy, the kid that stayed at the table, stood there, missed nothing, הכל בסדר.

Not only is he fine, He's looking straight in the lion's eyes. While he's demonstrating such serenity of the soul and calmness of the mind,

And the family members that see this are wondering what is he on. What did mommy put, what did she really put in the soup that he got first? He tasted it first. Who sprinkled what in the punch? Right? Like who knows what, what is he on? How could this be? How could this be? How could this be? I don't know if this ever happened to you at the zoo, but not only that, the lion is coming, cuddling and and and and kissing and hugging with this kid.

It looks as if like a father and son. And after a while, this lion took off his, it was a...

you know, they have this, have you seen this, this crazy, crazy costumes today, like not just Hollywood, like you could get these, like it's really freaky where you just, it looks like this is you and then for a second, you could peel off the mask, but he peeled off the mask, and it was their אבא. It was him, it was the father, They couldn't hold back.

Now, before asking the father, what on earth were you thinking, their question was first different. Their question first was, they asked their little brother, How come you weren't freaking out? They're not asking the father, what, what in the world are you smoking? They were asking the kid, how come you weren't tripping? How, how'd you stay chill? How'd you stay so cool? How could you have stayed so close to the lion without, you know, batting a lid? It's like crazy.

And you continued to even look at him. Listen to this. The kid answers, חשבתי לעצמי, I thought to myself, הנה הבית בקומה שלישית הוא. We live on the third floor.

And this house also is locked with a lock and a key. How could the lion, how could a lion come into the house? He has the key to the house? Like, and even if he had a key, a lion would know how to use a key into a keyhole? So it has to be that this cannot be an animal.

But it's got to be our father, our beloved אבא. Only he has the key to come in the home.

And he is the one that is hiding beneath the skin of a lion. ולא כל מזיק בא עלינו, and not any damaging that's coming over us. What do I have to be fearful from?

I looked straight in the eyes of the lion, Basically saying, the look the kid had was basically saying, אבא, I see through it. I see through it.

This is so deep. I see through it. You're the one that's hiding, that's concealing yourself beneath the skin of a lion.

But you know what? But I long, even right now when I can't understand why you would hide beneath the skin of a lion and scare the daylights out of us, even now, which everything is from you, I still want you. I will scream before you.

Accept, accept, ריבונו של עולם, my רצון to come close to you, more than ever. So אבא saw my eyes and he said it's time to take off the mask.

But he was hugging me even before he took off the mask. This משל is so deep. There are so many layers to this.

What רב גינזבורג, I could just imagine, would do with the story like this, he would first מלביש it from the שבע ספירות, then a פרצוף. He would take this and show us how the whole world of קבלה וחסידות is found in this story. When did the father start hugging the child? When did the child, when did the child give that gaze to the father? while he was just sitting there and calm. Yeah, but while he looked like a lion.

Well, what's that? While he looked like a lion. That's, I mean he's going to explain this, but we could give a lot of דרשות just on this משל, right? But this is basically

From the mouth of of a, of of of of of lions. Like, while it still looks like a lion. You know, these these missiles look like lions.

ממש lions. And we're looking at the missile and we're look and we're see it, השם. This hide-and-seek game. Like when will you realize already that, I mean כביכול, so to speak, השם.

Like, your ידען aren't going anywhere. Your ידען aren't going anywhere. Even if, like to go back to what יהושע said before, there have been numbers of, על פי טבע, there shouldn't be any יהוד left. So no matter how many numbers you give me about assimilation, they're כלום.

It's nothing. Nothing in light of what, כביכול, על פי דרך הטבע, based on nature, should have evolved by now, should have come to right now. every Jew should live in Israel today.

from that perspective. But this week, the תיקון המרגלים of everyone rushing to come back home is couldn't be more of an example of we're sitting at the table and it looks like a lion and a lot of חבר'ה are scared, but we're looking right at you and saying, \"We see, השם, it's you. It's only you.\" It always was, והיה הווה ויהיה.

It'll never be anything else. And the parable is very, he says, is clear.

Sometimes it seems like it's a raging, dangerous lion that's coming to us. This person through going through a מחלה.

And this person that's waiting to have a child. Also from a person that has not so much נחת from their children. זה בקושי הפרנסה, through a person that has a hard time making money.

זה בקושי בין איש לרעהו, a person that socially is going through a lot of צרות, he doesn't have friends. Who did all this? The only כוח in the world that exists is our Father in Heaven, ורק בידו המפתח לעשות בעולמו ובבריותיו ככל רצונו. Only השם has the key to come in to the house, his house, to do what he wants.

It must be, must be that it is השם that is concealing himself still through all different types of things that give legit fear. Legit fear. I'm thinking of doing it.

I'm going to have to look at it again soon, but I came across an unbelievable letter that the צמח צדק wrote to his מחותן, the third לובאוויטשער רבי, wrote a letter to his מחותן which describes how a Jew and how a חסיד looks into the face of anxiety and fear. You you, it is a startling letter. I think בעזרת השם, I'm going to give it over, do a שבת afternoon שיעור this weekend and give it to, try to learn it with the חבר'ה. It is an amazing, amazing find.

I never saw anything like this before in my life. There's a lot of mirroring going on with רב קוק's מאמר הפחד in there. But within that, beneath that layer, the יד, the eternal יד, looks in that and says, and says, \"I see, I see it's you.\" The קאצקער רבי said, right? The saddest game of hide-and-seek, remember? With the קאצקער רבי said? The great, השם's been playing hide-and-seek with us for so long. What's the saddest part? No one's looking for him.

But we haven't. But but we're living testimony that we haven't. We're still in it. השם, you want to keep on like that's your עניין, but you've seen we're not, like, all I could, I can't choose what you should do, השם.

I can only have a בעל בחירה to be where I am and I already know that I'm not going anywhere. I already know I'm not going anywhere. Fourth to the bottom line, אין לך אלא להביט בעיניו ולאמר לו, all we have left is to look, so to speak, in God's eyes, כביכול, ולאמר לו, הן אבי, אתה מכיר אני בך, אף מתחת עור האריה האפל כמחשיך ומסתיר אני בך. I'm looking straight beneath the eyes, beneath the skin of a lion skin which looks that it's all dark and concealing.

I'm never leaving you, השם. And when a יד really says this, lives like this, is aware that this is their state of being, ובזה יפתחו בפניו שערי רחמים. Gates of mercy will open up before him.

And he will leave darkness into light, from slavery to redemption. ואף בטרם ישועה הנגלית, but even before משיח comes. Right? I want to say, is like the revealed, the revealed redemption.

That even while this is still happening, and it should end immediately with a total victory, a total שמירה over עם ישראל, but even within it, we're looking at you, השם, and we're saying, we're trying to reach the level that we could say, we see this is you.

In your hands are everything. And that's the חאפ for me at the end of this footnote where he says, אף בטרם ישועה הנגלית. That's a very important thing. Even before it's all over in a good way, right? Even before that, while you're still sitting at the table and it's still a לבוש of a lion, right? You look right into its eyes,

While you're looking at השם beneath everything, at that moment, there's no darkness. There's no darkness. While you're looking at השם beneath all of this, I have, I I almost broke once this week, like really bad. Really bad.

And this is like helping me, ברוך השם, to share with you. One morning, I I think it was yesterday morning, was there a siren by us? 7:15? Sevenish. Whatever it was, yesterday morning. It's amazing.

We learn חסידות all the time. Everyone comes a יקה when I when I try to find a, whatever it was, okay? Sevenish. 7:30ish, 7:20ish. Sorry.

Anyway, what ended up happening was, you just started again. My son is playing one of these bowling games on the, I think it's like a, I don't know, one of these games on the on the pocket computer, and then that annoying, horrific, whatever that is, that first one, right? No, before that. Before the, there's always that one. It's like this, a horrible signal.

It's a it's a gut-wrenching, they said, I I I looked into this. They said that like, מומחים sat down to figure out like, really, they they they really spent a lot of time like deciphering what what what what should be that, you know, that that alarm, like that that first signal, right? What's the most triggering thing you can hear? most triggering, right? And my son's there and he's not wearing a shirt and he's sitting in front of me and he's playing it and then that thing goes on and I see the the back of my son's bones just freaking out and running, running up the stairs, like, right? And I looked up to at שמיים and I said, I'm about to let, and I stopped. I was about to, you know, we don't understand anything. It could be that this is forming my my son to become to have the backbone to hold the knife as a כהן as proper as possible.

I don't know. I don't know. I just trust that השם is running the world. That was the one moment, that was the moment this week, השם ירחם, it was crazy.

There's been many moments like that. So I just want to give us all a ברכה, to look deep into the eyes of what seems at moments to be like a lion, and to say at that moment, ואפיקי ית עמך מגו גלותא. השם, this עניין of having an עם, עמך די בחרת מכל אומיה. This was your decision to have a nation.

This was your decision to have a nation. You chose, you, no one forced you, השם, to choose us as ליידלך. And we're with you forever.

Please don't bring any more נסיונות like this on us. השם can change over the whole thing right now. Maybe it just takes ten מניינים to stand before השם and and be like this kid at the table.

And that בעזרת השם, tonight, last Friday night was a little bit different than, you know, hopefully we'll be this Friday night. Our סעודה last Friday night, I think we only sat down to eat at like 11, משהו כזה, 'cause we were running in and out of the rooms and whatever. And I'm just want to say one more thing is that I am so humbled to be part of this חבר'ה because everyone's been showing up this week on so many different levels for each other and it's a it's a beautiful, beautiful thing. People calling me and asking me can you just tell me if anyone needs help with anything or we're here for this, we're for that, opportunities to learn, in such a week, so much different learning and different, it's just it's a it's a beautiful, wonderful thing and we should continue to be humbled by the torch that's been placed in our midst and only realize we're only getting starting.
